Our next crusade may be a literal one.

Lionhearts is an upcoming player-driven medieval feudal simulator set during the Third Crusade. Build a life through war, trade, religion, politics, and land ownership in a persistent world shaped by the players themselves.

Lionhearts caught our attention for a pretty obvious reason. It is a persistent medieval world set during the Third Crusade where kingdoms, military orders, trade, politics, religion, territory, and warfare are intended to be driven largely by the players themselves. For a community called The Knights Templar, it was hard not to take a closer look.

Instead of everyone following the same quest line, Lionhearts is being built around a feudal society with different ways to make your mark. Players can pursue the military hierarchy, build businesses and guilds through trade, or rise through the religious hierarchy. Land has persistent ownership, kingdoms compete over territory, resources matter to the economy and war effort, and positions of authority are held by actual players.

TKT became involved during the game's 2025 Kickstarter. We originally backed the project knowing full well that it was ambitious and that there were no guarantees about what it would eventually become. The Kickstarter went on to raise $169,778 against its $100,000 goal, and quite a few members of our community decided to support it along the way.

That support ended up giving TKT a pretty unique start. During the Kickstarter referral competition, our members rallied behind Hugues de Payens and helped him win the Lord Tier reward. That tier was originally an $8,000 Kickstarter pledge. In Lionhearts' planned military hierarchy, a Lord can establish a retinue, hold a lordship, and lead knights and other retainers beneath them while serving a Duke or Monarch.

That does not mean we expect to walk into the game and have everything handed to us. Lionhearts is supposed to be a player-driven world, and whatever TKT becomes inside that world will ultimately depend on the people who show up and what we build together. The Lord position simply gives us a natural place to rally around when the larger feudal systems come online.

For members who would rather forge swords than swing them, Lionhearts is not only about combat. Its planned economy includes player-run guilds and professions covering everything from blacksmithing and farming to tailoring, woodworking, shipping, administration, medicine, food production, and commerce. A successful kingdom will need far more than people carrying swords.

Lionhearts is still in development, so plans and systems can change before the full game arrives. We are following development closely, and this page will grow with the game as we learn more about where TKT fits into its world.
